SMOKE DETECTORS INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE

Many people aren’t aware that when you sleep, you lose your sense of smell – so you will not be woken by smoke in the event of a fire. This is why smoke detectors are so important – when your family is sleeping, they are one of the only ways of knowing that a fire has broken out.
Smoke detectors will, however, only benefit your family if they have been properly installed, are well maintained and if you have chosen the right sort of alarm in the first place.
We highly recommend hardwired smoke detector installation for all homes (in fact, this is compulsory for new builds). The alarm draws power from the mains (so it is always on) and has a battery backup for blackouts. This is much safer than battery-only detectors where the battery is the only power source.
